Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Wednesday, launched a “sense of education” program for “deserving” families so that they can send their children for education.
Addressing the launch event in Islamabad, the prime minister said that 20 million children not attending school were a “key issue” for the country, and regretted that due importance was not being given to their education, adding that it was important to rectify the problem.
He said that a country’s greatest asset “is its people” and that not providing them with education is like “wasting your assets”.
“By denying you the opportunity for upward [social] mobility, you are doing a great injustice to this segment,” he said.
The prime minister said the salary initiative would “motivate and encourage” children to attend school.
The Prime Minister particularly highlighted the number of girls who do not attend school more than boys. “We did not give importance to education but especially, unfortunately, we did not give importance to girls’ education,” he said.
The prime minister said that a well-educated woman was of greater benefit to society than a well-educated man because she “educates her children and changes her entire family system [like] the health and well-being of children, who have a lot of societal influences”.

As per the details, Benazir Income Support Program Board has officially approved the inclusion of first-year middle and second-year students in the Wasila Education Program.
Of the 20 million children out of school, most are girls. Girls are not sent to schools not only because their parents do not consider them safe but because their education is not insured. Imran Khan would like to change that and Ehsaas’ educational strategy is his.
